  1. Increasingly I get the disticnt impression that we are analysing the obvious failing state to death, but nobody has a clue as to how we are going to avoid the eventual crash, which is inevitably coming. This is again an excellent analysis, even pinpointing some of the crucial causes of the malaise, such as cadre deployment, absence of discipline, no enforcement of accountability, nepotism, corruption, lack of oversight etc., but then it seems that we time and again vaguely conclude by implying that nothing can and will be done to correct the dire and worsening situation, and that eventually it will all fall to pieces during the ultimate revolt of ‘the people’. I don’t begin to say this is what the Professor is saying in so many words, but as I said in the opening sentence, it appears that nobody has a clue as to how we are going to avoid the eventual crash, which is inevitably coming. That is the scary part, which the EFF has cleverly identified as the gap to exploit, and which will eventually enable them to present the ‘ultimate revolt’ as their success story and ‘solution’ to the failed state. Bone-chilling stuff, I am afraid. Wish I had a better idea than the EFF to eventually bring the current farce to an end, and then rebuild a South-African utopia (sarcasm, obviously!).
